Vascular Solutions is an independent vein & vascular center in south Charlotte, North Carolina. We are seeking an additional part-time physician assistant to join our team.
Our primary focus is on the detection and treatment of varicose veins and venous insufficiency of the lower extremities. Our ideal candidate should also be familiar with management of peripheral arterial disease.
Qualifications:
- Graduated from an accredited educational program for physician assistants.
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant in North Carolina.
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques associated with Vascular medicine.
- Preferred at least 2 years of Physician Assistant experience.
Job Duties:
- Exercise clinical competency and expertise in the area of vascular medicine.
- Functions independently and as a members of an interdisciplinary team to plan, deliver, and evaluate treatment plans for patients.
- Evaluates patients with symptomatic varicose veins, leg pain, leg swelling, leg cramping or other symptoms of venous insufficiency.
- Provides anticipatory guidance and education to patients and families.
- Documents patient assessment and plan of care in the EMR (EPIC) and generates appropriate health reports.
- Assure completion of documentation for coding and billing purposes.
- Perform venous sclerotherapy as part of our cosmetic service line.
- Answer phone calls from patients and family members regarding clinical issues.
- Assist with after hours answer first coverage.
- Provides communication with referring physicians and pharmacists as appropriate, arranging follow-up visits and procedures as required.
- Rooming patients, assessing vital signs, applying bandages/dressings as needed.
- Assisting with room turnover as needed.
- Prep tumescent anesthesia bags for procedures.
- Converse with medical sales representatives and sign for samples.
- Mentor and educate newly on-boarded PAs.
